Balance key to Chesy girls’ victory

CHESAPEAKE — When the Chesapeake Lady Panthers weighed their offense, it was pretty balanced.
With nine of the 12 players scoring and three in double figures, the Lady Panthers topped the Tolsia Lady Rebels 57-20 on Wednesday.
Abbey Isaacs scored 12 points on four 3-pointers, Kate Ball had 13 points and Chloe Parrott scored 10 for Chesapeake (9-5).
“We had good balance offensively,” said Lady Panthers’ coach Chris Ball. “Freshman Chloe Parrott was huge tonight. She had a great all-around game and that’s good news for us.”
Isaacs hit a pair of 3-pointers, Parrott scored 4 points and Erin Hicks knocked down a 3-pointer as Chesapeake jumped in front 17-2 in the first quarter.
The lead went to 37-6 at the half as Isaacs drained two more 3-pointers, Ball had a 3-pointer and scored 6 points while Hicks, Parrott, Cierra Nichols and Abby Mitchell all had baskets.
Ball and Clairynn Romans both hit 3-pointers and scored 5 points in the third quarter as the Lady Panthers extended the lead to 53-11. Parrott added 4 points and Mitchell had a bucket.
Tolsia outscored Chesapeake 9-4 in the fourth quarter as Olivia Kelley hit a 3-pointer and scored 5 points.
K.J. Collins and Mitchell had the Chesapeake baskets.
