Police searching for Coal Grove man after domestic violence report

COAL GROVE —  A domestic violence situation turned into a manhunt after the suspect ran from police on Wednesday night.

According to a Coal Grove Police Department report, they got a report of domestic violence in the 600 block of High Street around 9 p.m. The victim said that Bryce Snyder, 23, of Coal Grove had been arguing all day and he had left the house and he had left for a while but returned later and got violent, pushing his elbow into the back of her head and screaming at her while she was holding a three-year-old child. The victim also said he threw her to the ground and then picked her up and also pulled her hair. The victim also said Snyder had torn up the house including pulling doors from their frames.

The victim went to a neighbor’s house for help and called the police.

The victim told police that Snyder had a gun.

After being interviewed by police, the victim was taken to a medical center to see if she had a concussion.

The police got a search warrant for the residence but found Snyder had left the area. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Ironton Police were called to help search for Snyder but he had not been found as of 10 a.m. Thursday.

Because of the situation, Open Doors Schools requested police presence until the students were unloaded from buses and inside the building.
