COLUMBUS — Senate Bill 54, which includes a measure to create the Ohio River Commission, is on its way to the Governor’s desk for a signature, State Rep. Justin Pizzulli, R-Scioto County, announced Monday.
More specifically, the bill will create the nine-member Ohio River Commission within the Department of Development to promote economic development, marine cargo terminal operations and travel and tourism on the Ohio River and its tributaries.
“The Ohio River is an invaluable asset to my community and the state as a whole,” Pizzulli said. “I’m confident this commission will protect and maximize its benefit to all Ohioans.”
