WEST PORTSMOUTH — In a back-and-forth game, Portsmouth West was able to go forth at the right time.

Trailing by one point entering the fourth quarter, the Senators outscored the Symmes Valley Vikings 17-13 and post eda 54-51 win on Friday night.

West was up first by taking a 12-11 lead in the first quarter as Will Kegley scored 6 points and Corbin Miller 4.

Will Jones had 4 points and Tanner Corn hit a 3-pointer for the Vikings.

Symmes Valley (1-2) tied the game in the second quarters as Jones had 6 points and Corn hit another 3-pointer.

Kegley hit a 3-pointer and scored 7 points while Logan Wolfenbarker hit a pair of 3-pointers for West (4-0).

The Vikings took a 38-37 lead after three quarters as Corn knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and Bronx Carpenter had 5 points including a 3-pointer.

But In the fourth quarter, Wolfenbarker was 4-of-5 at the foul line and Braden Adkins hit a 3-pointer and was 2-of-4 at the line as West rallied for the win.

Gradee Holland hit two 3-pointers and scored 8 points while Carpenter added a trey and Jons a basket to account for the Vikings’ points in the quarter.

Jones and Corn scored 12 points each and Carpenter had 10 points to pace the Vikings.

Kegley scored 20 points and Wolfenbarker got 19 for unbeaten West.
