Nunn, Blue Angels get win over Lady Hornets

COAL GROVE — When you ask the Gallipolis Blue Angels whom they turn to for scoring, they might say Nunn.
That’s not Nunn as in no one but Ryen Nunn who had 17 points as the Blue Angels downed the Coal Grove Lady Hornets 52-33 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.
Taylor Barnes added 14 points for the Blue Angels (2-2, 1-1) in the win.
Jenna Anson scored 15 points for the Lady Hornets (1-3, 0-2).
Three different players scored in the first quarter as Gallipolis took a 6-4 lead.
Anson had all 4 of Coal Grove’s points.
Nunn hit a 3-pointer and scored 9 points in the second quarter while Mallory Petro also hit a trey for the Blue Angels who went ahead 25-16.
Anson had 5 points and Emma Lively hit a 3-pointer for Coal Grove.
Taylor Barnes sank a pair of 3-pointers and Kenya Peck scored 4 points in the third quarter as Gallipolis opened up a 41-22 lead.
Lively hit another 3-pointer and Kasey Vanderhoof was 2-for-2 at the foul line.
Barnes had a 3-pointer and scored 5 points while Nunn added 4 points for the Blue Angels in the fourth quarter.
Kendall Taylor scored 6 of her 8 points in the quarter while Anson added 5 more points.
