Eli Whaley was putting them up and Wesley Neal was pulling them down.

Whaley was putting up the points as he scored 29 points including seven 3-pointers while Neal pulled down 10 rebounds as the St. Joseph Flyers beat the South Gallia Rebels 65-51 on Friday.

Neal was putting the ball up as well as he scored 17 points and he added 6 assists. Landon “Rocky” Rowe had 4 steals along with 3 assists for St. Joseph (2-1).

Carson Stowers scored 15 points and Layne Wright had 13 for the Rebels (0-3).

The Flyers lead 15-13 at the end of the first quarter as Whaley drained three trifectas and scored 9 points.

Tanner Sanders hit a pair of 3-pointers with Caleb Frazer and Hayden Kemp getting one each for the Rebels in the quarter.

Neal netted 8 points in the second quarter and Whaley had another trey as he scored 6 points and the Flyers lead was 29-24 at the half.

Stowers made two 3-pointers and Wright had 5 points including a 3-pointer for South Gallia.

The lead was 45-39 after three quarters as Whaley nailed two more 3-pointers and scored 8 points while Carter Johnson added 4 points.

Hunter Wright had 5 points as four different players scored for the Rebels.

Whaley scored 6 points as he and Rowe each hit from behind the arc while Neal scored 5 points including 3 free throws.

Stowers hit two more 3-pointers and Wright added four points for the Rebels.
