Redmen earn berth in D3 state cross country meet

The Rock Hill Redmen cross country team finished third as a team in the Division 3 regional meet last Saturday in Pickerington and qualified for this Saturday’s state meet at Fortress Obetz in Columbus. It’s pretty special when it’s the state meet.

The Rock Hill Redmen will be running in the Division 3 state cross country meet on Saturday at Fortress Obetz in Columbus as they have reached the pinnacle of meets once again.

Junior Nixon Snavely finished fifth overall and was named All-Regional. The Redmen as a team were third in the regional meet team standings and qualified for the state meet..


Rock Hill Redmen junior Nixon Snavely (red jacket) finished 5th at the Division 3 regional cross country meet to earn all-regoinal honors. Rock Hill was third as a team to qualify for the state meet.

Snavely ran a 15:59.30 as he finished fifth overall among 149 total runners.

Coal Grove Hornets’ sophomore Seth Hamm was 11th with a 16:25.60 time to qualify for the state meet.

Rock Hill junior Ryan Riddle was 25th with a 17:02.98 time, senior Dakotah Sanders came in at 27 with a 17:04.65 clocking, sophomore Kelan Davidson ran a 17:41.75 to place No. 52. Junior Ben Simpson ran a 17:5539 to finish 57th, junior Wyatt Knit had an 18:37.39 time and sophomore Isaiah Fuhr had a 19:05.51 clocking.

Chesapeake Panthers Waylon Michael was No. 55 with a 17:48.99 time.

Mount Gilead won the meet with 52 points followed by Fredericktown with 86 points and Rock Hill had 100.

Shenandoah was fourth with 152 points, Lynchburg-Clay 171, Lancaster Fisher Catholic 216, Northmor 247, Waterford 257, East Knox 263 and Lancaster Fairfield Christian 264.

Rounding out the team scores were Racine Southern with 272 points to finish 11th, South Webster 274, Fairbanks 276, Bellaire 288, Manchester 328, Martins Ferry 346 and Oak Hill 416.
