Rev. Jerry Bowling

Rev. Jerry David Bowling, 71, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at UK King’s Daughters Medical Center.

Rev. Bowling was born on March 28, 1953, in Ironton, to the late Rev. Edgel and Ella (Reeves) Bowling.

Jerry grew up and worked on the family farm in Waterloo.

He then graduated from Symmes Valley High School. After graduation, he worked as a local television repairman and taught electronics for a period of time.

He then took over the role of pastor of IPCA House of Prayer in Pedro and evangelized across the local area for many years.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gertrude Gullett Bowling; infant sister, Dora Jean Bowling; two sisters, Esther Malone and Joann Barr; and brother, Glen Roy Bowling.

Jerry is survived by his two sons, John (Melissa) Bowling, of Marietta, and Jerry L (Melissa) Bowling, of Wheelersburg; grandchildren, Devon (Ally) Bowling, of Zanesville, Carter Bowling, of Marietta, and Taylor Bowling, of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.

We would like to give a special thanks the Wilson’s for their friendship with our father over the years.

Visitation will be 10 a.m.–noon Saturday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St., Ironton.

A graveside service will follow at Lawrence Furnace Cemetery in Pedro, with Rev. Scott Lambert officiating.
