The Church Women United of Lawrence County will have World Community Day at 1 p.m. on Nov. 1 at the Methodist Church, Fifth and Center streets, Ironton.
They will be taking donations for Harvest for the Hungry food pantry.
At their May 5 May Friendship Day meeting, they awarded Dorsey Taylor Conwell their Woman of Valor award.
She is a member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, the Southeast District president of the Ohio Association of Colored Women’s Club, past president of The Women’s Civic Club in Ironton, current president of the Lawrence County Southside Homemaker’s Club, served as the secretary for the Lawrence County Homemakers’ Council and is current member and past president of Church Women United of Lawrence County.
All women are welcome to attend World Community Day.
