Anna Lois Jenkins, 92, of Ironton, passed away peacefully while visiting her sweet family in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Oct. 7, 2024. Anna was born Nov. 13, 1931, to the late Freda and Arthur Ruetz. Originally from Toledo. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ron Jenkins.
Anna worked as a telephone operator with Ohio Bell.
Anna then moved to Ironton with her husband in 1975, where she spent most of her life.
In 2019, Anna moved to Mississippi to live with her son and his family, where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anna enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the birds, playing with the dogs, playing games with her great-grandchildren, watching Game Show Network (she knew ALL the answers and could outplay anyone) and making memories at our loud and fun family dinners.
Anna is preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Ronnie Jenkins; her siblings, Velma Lewis, Yvonne Ruetz, Mary Readnour, Carol Brown, Emma Jane Cluckey, Arthur Ruetz, Rosie Schumacher, William Ruetz, Robert Ruetz, and Charles Ruetz.
Anna is survived by Rocky (Darlene) Ruetz and Roy (Kathleen) Ruetz; her son, Fred (Dusty) Dixon; stepchildren, Rhonda Marshall, Ron Jenkins, Wanda Holmes, Kevin Jenkins, Robert Jenkins and Linda Evans; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anna will be remembered for her devoted love for Jesus, her son, Fred and her family.
Graveside services will be 2:30 pm, Monday at Slab Fork Cemetery, County Road 4, Pedro, with Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, is honored to assist the Jenkins family.
