Shane Jenkins

Shane Edward Jenkins was born on Jan. 5, 1959 and passed away at the age of 65 on Sept. 20, 2024, in Tokyo, Japan.

He was born in Ironton to Sherman and Joanna Jenkins (now deceased), of South Point and was the grandson of Helen Jenkins, of Ironton.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years of marriage, Virginia Annette Jenkins; his sister, Debra Jenkins (her husband, Joseph Nistico); his brother, Mike Jenkins (his wife Anika Jenkins); his niece, Joanna Rae Velez-Diaz (and husband, Carlos; and their three children, Alexander, Isabella and Marcos); his cousins, Connie Hitt, and Lisa Irish (and her husband, Rusty Irish, and their son Joshua.)

Shane was a 1977 graduate of South Point High School and a 1982 graduate of Ohio University.

He was the public relations director for the Ohio State Fair and Expositions Center and was a former reporter for The Ironton Tribune. In Tokyo, he managed the 100th anniversary for the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan and as well as for the American School in Japan.

Private services were held in Tokyo, Japan on Sept. 23, 2024.
