Lloyd “Pink” Allen DePriest, 82, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, in King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Lloyd was born on Oct. 25, 1941, in Ironton, the son to the late Frank and Lena (Hutchinson) DePriest.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Tate) DePriest.

Lloyd was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, then served his country in the Army National Guard.

He retired from AK Steel, after 30-plus years of working at the Dayton Malleable where he worked as an iron worker.

Lloyd enjoyed fishing, wood working, he loved to tinker in his garage, he was a man of many trades.

Lloyd was a member of the VFW Post 8850.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Floyd.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Debbie Alfrey; granddaughter, Sara (Ray) Brown; brother, Rod Depriest; and great-grandchildren, Vega Brown and Rush Brown; as well as other family and friends who will miss him.

Funeral service will be noon Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton.

Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
