Kenneth Unrue Jr.
Kenneth “Ken” Clinton Unrue Jr., 80, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024.
Born on Feb. 7, 1944, in Ironton, he was the son of Kenneth Unrue Sr. and Valeria.
Ken was known for his exceptional skills as a handyman, often sharing his talents by volunteering with the Eagle Scouts at Camp Oyo in Portsmouth.
His passion for woodworking was evident in the many projects he completed over the years.
An avid sports enthusiast, Ken enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and the Olympics.
He also cherished the moments spent playing cards and bingo with family and friends.
With a great sense of humor, Ken was a master of sarcasm, a trait he lovingly passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Above all, he found joy in spending time with his family and adored being with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Unrue, Sr.; mother, Valeria; son, Clinton D.R. Unrue; and sisters, Janice Bunn, Pat Fowler, Connie Unrue, and Gail Coffman.
Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife, Cathie Unrue (nee Hogsten); daughters, Anna (Pete) Frahm and Amy (Jeff) Fournier; grandchildren, Aiden Frahm, Noah Frahm, Madi Frahm, Jake Walter, and Ava Walter; as well as a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A private burial will take place in November 2024 at Woodland Cemetery in Ironton.
