Suzanne Davis

Suzanne Davis, 79, of Coal Grove, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024. Suzanne was born Dec. 3, 1944 in Beckley, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Beatrice (Gillenwater) Adams and Thurman Adams.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Danny Allen Davis, who she married Dec. 20, 1963.

Suzanne was a 1963 graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and was a former employee of Jo-Lin Health Center.

She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dick McPeake and Ruth Cox; nephew, Ray Cox; special aunt, Mel Felty, sisters-in-law, Sandra Davis and Sandy Davis; and her brother-in-law, Doug Davis.

Those left to keep her memory alive, in addition to her husband, are her sons, Danny Lee Davis (Ellie), of Sharon, South Carolina, and Brian Walter Davis (Stacy), of Coal Grove; her grandchildren, Kayla Davis, Karlie Eckstein (Todd); two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Caroline Eckstein; nieces, Tami McPeake Smith, of Fredricksburg, Texas, Vicki Wimbish (Gary), of Beckley, West Virginia, and Charlotte Terry (Wayne), of Detroit, Michigan; nephew, Rick Cox, of Beckley, West Virginia; brothers-in-law, Daryl Davis, of Coal Grove, and David Davis (Nancy) of Marion; sisters-in-law, Tammy Tanzer (Mark), of Ironton, and Cathy Davis, of Rochester, New York.

The Davis family will receive friends, Monday from 11 a.m.–noon at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton.

The funeral service will begin at noon with Rev. Larry Comer officiating and entombment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ashland, Kentucky.
