Ella Roberson

Ella Roberson, 92, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Lawrence County, passed away peacefully Sept. 19, 2024.

Mrs. Roberson was born Sept. 14, 1932, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late George D. and Nora M. (Turner) Mitchell.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, James “Frank” Roberson on Feb. 9, 1992.

Mrs. Roberson was a graduate of Waterloo High School and retired from Ashland Oil, after 36 years as an employee benefits supervisor.

Mrs. Roberson moved to Lexington, Kentucky for many years, but returned to her roots in Lawrence County.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Belcher; brother, Paul Mitchell; and niece, Linda Fraley.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her sister, Emma Swango, of Pedro; nine nieces and nephews, Gary Belcher, Ray Belcher, Larry Belcher, Ruthie Langer, Amy Wilson, Tresa Baker, Nora Stamper, Ella Jones and Gary Swango; and a host of other family and friends, who will mourn her passing.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Pastor Brian Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Bradshaw Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10 a.m. until time of the service.
