Nancy Bowling, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Nancy was born in Ironton to the late Charles and Enola Cade.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Cade; daughter, Debbie Craft Watson; son, David Bowling; and grandson, Brandon Craft.

Nancy’s memories, recipes, humor and talents will be cherished by those she leaves behind including her biggest supporter and husband of 35 years, Ronald Bowling; her brothers, Lee (Lois) Cade and Bill (Brenda) Cade; her children, Billie (Greg) Newsome and Donnie (Tina) Craft; and son-in-law, Bobby Watson; her grandchildren, Ryan (Leanna) Newsome, Josh (Lexi) Craft, Teddilyn Craft, Linsey (Breanna) Kouns, Jonathan (Tessa) Kouns, Kyleigh Newsome; and her granddaughter and best friend, Brittany (Jeremy) Hastie. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren and many loved ones.

Nancy grew up in Kitts Hill and graduated from Dawson-Bryant high school.

She worked as a bank teller/clerk for many years, and after meeting the love of her life in 1990, she pursued a lifelong dream of becoming a registered nurse.

Nancy graduated with her BSN degree from Morehead state University in 1999. She worked as a registered nurse for many years before retiring.

Nancy loved to travel, go fishing on the lake, going camping and spending time with her husband and loved ones.

Nancy had many talents, including poetry.

She could do anything she set her mind to, especially if someone told her she couldn’t.

Nancy was a fighter and never gave up.

She will be deeply missed and loved forever.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Markie and Stephanie Cade and Dave and April Cade for the love and support.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South 7th Street, Ironton, with Brother Mike Triplett officiating.

Burial will be in Bowling Cemetery, Boyd County, Kentucky.

Visitation for family and friends will be 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
