Minford wins girls SOC golf title; Lady Vikings 4th

WHEELERSBURG — The Minford Lady Falcons were swinging free and easy, much like their win on Tuesday.

The Lady Falcons were easy winners as they claimed the Southern Ohio Conference girls golf championship by 49 strokes at the Little Scioto Golf Course.

Minford had a 199 team total followed by the Waverly Lady Tigers at 248, the Oak Hill Lady Oaks 259, the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings 269, and the Northwest Lady Mohawks 271.

Also competing but without a full team were the Lucasville Valley Lady Indians, the South Webster Lady Jeeps, Beaver Eastern Lady Eagles and Wheelersburg Lady Pirates.

Minford sophomore Ava Flaig shot a 44 to take medalist honors with senior Saylor Crace of Waverly and Minford junior Madylyn Bennett both just 2 shots behind.

Wheelersburg junior Kaleena Adkins shot a 47, South Webster senior Dru Hall a 52, Minford junior Riley Kasee 53, Minford juniors Lainey Howard and Danica Clarkson both carded a 56 as did Wheelersburg sophomore Adalyn Noble.

Valley senior Sidney Jones had a 60, Eastern junior and Northwest senior Kaylee Johnson a 61 each, Oak Hill junior Haylee Skaggs, South Webster junior Cailee Blevins and Wheelersburg sophomore Regan Wilson all shot a 62, and Symmes Valley freshman Marley Higgins and Oak Hill sophomore Brynlee Stickley had 63s

Symmes Valley junior Kaycee Thompson, Waverly senior Avery Nathan and junior Nev Rolin and Oak Hill sophomore all shot a 66, Eastern sophomore Abbygayle Dawson and Oak Hill sophomore Charissa Krannitz had 68s, the trio of Symmes Valley freshman Pozee Holland, Northwest sophomore McKenzie Adkins and Northwest sophomore Madison Bender all carded a 69, Waverly sophomore Are Dutcher shot a 70, Symmes Valley freshman Lexi Newman 71 and Northwest sophomore Kaylee Thackston had a 72.
