Local fireworks schedule

Fourth of July festivities are fast approaching the Tri-State and with that comes cookouts, live music and one of the main attractions of the holiday, fireworks.
Several areas of southern Ohio and neighboring Kentucky and West Virginia will have many activities for the public honoring 248 years of the United States being in existence.
• Coal Grove will host the Family Fun Days sponsored by the Coal Grove Betterment Club from July 1-3 at Paul Porter Park. Fireworks will be held on July 3 at 10 p.m. with several other activities being split up over the several-day event. A “Firecracker” 5K will be on July 1, and live music will be conducted daily. Accompanying the fireworks on July 3 is a cornhole tournament.
• South Point is featuring on July 6 a car show, fireworks, live music, inflatables and vendors and crafters at the South Point Community Park. The event is put on by People for the Point, Inc.
• Ashland will host its Summer Motion event, filling the Ashland riverfront with live music from July 2-4 and fireworks on the fourth at 10:15 p.m. Apart from featuring eight music acts in three days, there will also be food vendors, a pickleball tournament and much more.
• The city of Greenup will hold its annual fireworks celebration on July 5 beginning at 6 p.m.
Huntington’s Harris Riverfront Park will be the location of the 2024 “Dawg Dazzle”, put on by 93.7 The Dawg. The fireworks show will take place around nightfall on July 3. The event will feature music from The Huntington Symphony Orchestra and other artists.
Portsmouth will host its fireworks at Spartan Stadium on July 4 accompanied by live music, food trucks, vendors and inflatables for children.
