Live music put on by Ironton Alive and Studimo Productions, which brings in many local artists will return to the Farmers Market Pavilion in Ironton for its Tuesday evening concert series this Tuesday with The Jason Mays Band.
“The concerts being on Tuesday allow us to get artists that normally couldn’t get here because most aren’t busy,” said Sam Heighton, executive director of Ironton Alive.
In the decade since the concert series began, some noticeable changes can be seen that have boosted the turnout from the community.
“We’ve seen more spectators, repeat musicians that the crowd likes to see come, along with some new artists,” Heighton said.
The concert series doesn’t only bring music lovers down to the farmers market but also attracts those people to the downtown district of Ironton. Changes have been made to accommodate that and boost local businesses.
“We moved the time back to 6:30 p.m. which used to be at 6 p.m. to allow people to have a little extra time to have dinner here in town,” Heighton said.
Studimo Productions originally started the concert series and partnered with Ironton Alive to further boost the series into what it is today.
“We’re in a partnership with Studimo Productions, John Griffiths does all the booking, he works all over the country setting up equipment, so he knows the groups and how to get how to get ahold of them,” Heighton said. “We’re lucky to have Studimo here in our community.”
Concerts will be held every Tuesday from June until August, with the exception being the week of Independence Day when the Huntington Symphonic Band and Jazz Band will take to the stage.
On June 11, Larry Pancake will take the stage. On June 18, it will be Rob McNurlin and on June 24, it will be Rodney Crisp and his Honky Tonk Dance Band.

The concerts for the summer of 2024 are sponsored by Phillips Funeral Home, Perry Distributing, City of Ironton, Sandys Racing/Gaming, Glockner Dealerships, The Shakery, The Armory Smoke House, Patties and Pints, Melini’s Italian Restaurante, Ironton Council for the Arts, Callahan’s Pub, Continuing the Legacy Foundation, Gold Street Auto Repair, Servpro of Southern Scioto and Lawrence Co., Rax Roast Beef, Central Hardware and Pizza Hut.
