Marlene Ferguson, 88, of Ironton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Harbor Healthcare in Ironton, Ohio.
Marlene was born Nov. 10, 1935 to the late William (Bill) Beasley and Pauline (Pon) Sands Beasley.
She was married to Ralph (Dan) Ferguson, March 15, 1958, who preceded her in death Feb. 4, 2015.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Rev. Paul David Ferguson; her sister-in-law, Genevieve Howard; and brother-in-law, Jim Ferguson.
Marlene was a graduate with the Ironton High School Class of 1953. She attended Olivet Nazarene University and Ohio University Southern.
She was an administrative assistant at Radio Station WIRO and was the hostess of the program “Listen Ladies.”
She also worked 30 years as administrative assistant at First Presbyterian Church.
She was an active and faithful member of the West Ironton Church of the Nazarene, serving as secretary, treasurer, Nazarene Missions International president, and Sunday school teacher. She was the church pianist for 76 years. She served as accompanist and alto singer with the Pathfinders Quartet.
She was the president of the Ironton Woman’s Music Club.
She is survived by a son, Ralph Daniel Ferguson, Jr. (Danny); a daughter, Sherry (Paul) Delong; and a daughter-in-law, Crystal Ferguson; six grandchildren, Matthew (Kayla) Delong, Marissa Delong, Megan (Chris) Hart , Kelli, David and Brooke Ferguson; five great-grandchildren, Lily and Luke Delong, Chelsea, Chase and Macy Hart; and special friends, Pat Zornes, Kay Rader and Fondalene Alfrey.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St. Ironton, with Rev. Charles Lane officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
