Lady Dragons shut out Redwomen

PROCTORVILLE — The goal is still alive and well.
The Fairland Lady Dragons blanked the Rock Hill Redwomen 5-0 on Monday to stay in the thick of the Ohio Valley Conference title chase.
Fairland is now 13-4 overall and 9-2 in the league. The Lady Dragons close out the week with OVC games against South Point, Coal Grove and Chesapeake on consecutive days starting Wednesday.
Ironton leads the league at 11-1
Kaylee Salyer pitched a 4-hitter as she went the distance for the win. Salyer struck out 9 and issued just one walk.
The Lady Dragons had 7hits as Ally Shepherd went 2-2, Makena Black 2-3 with an RBI, Teagan Leep 1-2, Jordan Spencer 1-3 wit an RBI, Katie Dehart 1-3, and both Hailey Sammons and Katy Bell each had an RBI.
