BEAVER — The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings were a big hit.

The Lady Vikings had 23 hits in a 21-0 run rule win over the Eastern Lady Eagles in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Monday.

“We hit the ball really well. We’ve been hitting well lately,” said Lady Vikings’ coach Jeff “Odie” Estep. “Eastern’s pitcher throws the ball pretty well. We just hit.”

Symmes Valley (13-6, 6-1) went up 2-0 in the first inning when Emma Ridenour singled and Marley Ferguson belted a 2-out home run.

The Lady Vikings got 6 runs in the second.

Autumn Justice, Addy Hawk and Emma Ridenour singled for a run and Brenna Tibbs doubled home 2 runs. Desiree Simpson singled and Savannah Mart belted a 3-run home run.

In the third, Justice walked, Kaycee Thompson singled, and after a wild pitch, Hawk had a 2-run single. Tibbs then slugged a 2-run homer.

The lead went to 16-0 in the fourth.

Justice and Thompson singled and an outfield error moved the runners up and they scored on a hit by Hawk who was thrown out going to second base. Tibbs followed with a solo home run.

Justice singled, Thompson and Aly Haydon both reached on errors and Tibbs hit a grand slam home run.

In the fifth, Ferguson and Mart singled, Ridenour was safe on an error and Justice had an RBI single. Thompson singled for a run and Emma Ridenour had an RBI single. Tibbs reached on an error as 2 runs scored.

Tibbs was 3-5 with 2 home runs and 8 runs batted in and also picked up the pitching win. Desiree Simpson was 3-5, Ridenour 3-5, Justice 3-3, Thompson 3-4, Ferguson 2-3 with a home run and 2 RBI, Hawk 2-2, Jaycee Cook 1-2 and Natalie Simpson 1-2.

Symmes Valley visits South Gallia on Wednesday and hosts Eastern on Thursday.
