Shortened game doesn’t shorten Lady Dragons offense

PROCTORVILLE — The game was shortened, but not the Fairland Lady Dragons offense.
Although the game was called after 5 innings, the Lady Dragons had 11 hits as they beat the Gallipolis Blue Angels 9-4 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Wednesday.
Katy Bell was 3-3 with a double to pace the Lady Dragons offense. Kaylee Salyer was 2-3 with a triple and an RBI, Jordan Spencer 2-3 with an RBI, Aubrey Hayes 1-2 with a triple and 2 RBI, Madi McKinley 1-1, Hailey Sammons 1-2 with a double and 2 RBI and Katie Dehart 1-3.
Salyer got the win for Fairland (9-1, 7-0) as she went 5 innings allowing 7 hits with 2 earned runs, 5 strikeouts and just one walk.
Gallipolis (1-4, 0-3) was led by Taylor Mathie 1-3 with a home run, Sarah Thomas who was 2-3 with a triple, Colbie Nida 2-3 with an RBI, Reagan Skidmore 1-3 with a double and Halli Angel 1-3.
