It came as a surprise to no one, but President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have each won their parties’ primaries in Ohio.
Both Biden and Trump have already secured enough delegates to secure their party nominations.
In the Democratic primary, Biden easily beat Dean Phillips, who has suspended his campaign.
While in the Republican primary, Trump beat Nicki Haley be almost the same margin. Haley has also suspended her campaign.
The match between the current president, Biden, and the former president, Trump, will be the first time this has occurred in a general election since Theodore Roosevelt ran as an independent against the then-current president, Republican William Howard Taft, in 1912. Democratic challenger Woodrow Wilson won that election.
