On Friday night, Harrison was named as a Walter Camp First-Team All-American as a kick returner. He is one of only 25 players in FBS honored with the distinction of being named to the first team – one of the highest honors nationally.

Harrison becomes the first Marshall player to be named a Walter Camp All-American since Randy Moss in 1997.

The junior from Antioch, Tennessee, leads FBS in kickoff return average, gaining 31.9 yards per kickoff return. Harrison also has a pair of kickoff returns for touchdowns to his credit – a 94-yard return against James Madison and a 98-yard return of an opening kickoff to jumpstart the win over Georgia Southern.

For the season, Harrison has 669 kickoff return yards on 21 returns and has also added 22 catches for 278 yards and a touchdown.

The announcement continues a wave of accolades for Harrison. In addition to being named as a Walter Camp All-American, Harrison was also recently named as a CBS Sports All-America First Team selection and a finalist for the 2023 Jet Award, given to the nation’s top return specialist as voted on by a panel of media voters from the Football Writers Association of America.

Harrison was one of three Sun Belt players named to the Walter Camp All-American First Team, joining Old Dominion linebacker Jason Henderson and James Madison defensive lineman Jalen Green. The Sun Belt boasted of three of only four Group of Five players to be named Walter Camp First-Team All-Americans, showing the league’s national prowess.

The Walter Camp All-American nomination is the first of five teams that are used to determine consensus All-American status. The others include the FWAA All-American Team, the AP All-America Team, the AFCA All-American Team and the Sporting News All-American Team. Those awards will be announced early next week.

The 2023 Walter Camp All-Americans will be honored at the Foundation’s annual Awards Weekend on March 15-16, 2024, in New Haven, Connecticut.
