Vanessa (Newcomb) Fuller, 62, of Ironton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

She is the daughter of the late Charley and Alline (May) Newcomb and was born in Ironton on July 3, 1961.

She is survived by her beloved soulmate of 25-plus years, Jerry Brown.

She was a local health care worker at multiple companies and retired in 2021. Vanessa attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton. She was a Dawson-Bryant High School graduate and received her Associate’s Degree in general studies. Vanessa was a family person who loved trying new rides at amusement parks and thrill-seeking roller coasters. She loved cooking, swimming, riding motorcycles and shooting guns.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Wayne Fuller; her siblings, Charles Newcomb, Christine Newcomb, Pearl Thompson and Lily Killin; and her nephew, Chris Fields.

In addition to her soulmate, Jerry; she is survived by her sisters, Linnea Fields, Bonnie (Dale) Maddy and Bobbie Jo (Bobby) Ratliff; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members who will miss her dearly.

Funeral Services will be noon Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St. in Ironton with Pastor Dale Maddy officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Phillips Funeral Home is honored to assist the family in their time of need.
