10 new COVID-19 cases reported in Lawrence County

21 cases currently being monitored; 63 out of isolation
The Lawrence County Health Department and Lawrence County Emergency Management agency reported 10 new cases of COVID-19 in the county on Wednesday.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases to date to 83, with one additional probable case.
Of the 83 cases, 63 are out of isolation and 21 are being monitored, along with 51 contacts.
“A couple might be linked to vacation travel, several were direct contacts with other confirmed cases, and the others are considered community spread, meaning they had no travel history or contact with known confirmed cases,” the health department said in a statement. “None of these have been hospitalized. We are continuing to investigate as we work on contact tracing.”
The total cases in Lawrence County have more than doubled in the past month, with the number having stood at 30 on June 1.
Lawrence County is listed at a Level Two Alert on the Ohio Department of Health’s four-level system for reporting counties.
To date, 3,665 tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in the county. There have been no reported deaths from the virus to date in Lawrence County.
