PERI Meeting canceled

The Public Employee Retirees Incorporated Chapter 62 meeting for Wednesday, June 3 has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions.

Buckeye Rural Rio Grande and Linville offices will be closed to the public until further notice. They will continue to accept phone calls and provide service to members via the drive-thru window. They only plan to meet face-to-face on an as needed basis and by appointment.

Healing Our Nation Prayer Rally Delayed

Per the direction of director Michael Murphy and the leadership of Healing Our Nation Prayer Rally, the Healing Our Nation Prayer Rally 2020 scheduled for Tuesday, June 30 has been postponed indefinitely due to concern for the health and safety of the public due to the coronavirus pandemic. The group hopes to reschedule the rally for some time later in 2020.

Commissioners Meeting

The Lawrence County Commissioners meetings are now closed to the public but can be viewed on the commissioners’ Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ohioslcc/.

Cemetery Association Meeting Canceled

The Perkins Ridge Cemetery Association meeting, scheduled for May 24, has been canceled due to the coronavirus. Donations for the upcoming mowing season can be sent to Debbie Hayes, 8609 St. Rt. 217 Scottown, Ohio 45678.

Church Services Suspended

The New Valley Baptist Church has suspended services until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The church is located on County Road 52.

Ironton City Council

The Ironton City Council continues to meet at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of the month. Because of the coronavirus, they meet online. The public can view the meeting on Facebook at Ironton Ohio City Council Live.

South Point Rummage Sale

The Village of South Point has postponed its annual spring rummage sale to a later date, to be announced.

Ironton Kresge Reunion Postponed

The reunion of the employees of the Ironton Kresge store has been postponed due to restaurants being closed for the coronavirus. It will be rescheduled at a later date.

Lawrence County Museum Closed

The Lawrence County Museum is indefinitely delaying opening until the ban on large groups is lifted by the state. The spring tea is also canceled.
