Keeping voters informed

Tonight at 7 p.m., a meet the candidates event will take place at Fairland West Elementary, featuring those on the ballot for the March primary.
This year’s ballot will be a busy one, with several countywide offices on the ballot.
The forum is the first from the Lawrence County Meet the Candidates Committee, a newly-launched citizen group in the eastern end of the county.
Their event will join the Concerned Citizens of Burlington, who have, for years, been hosting candidate events in the primary and general elections. Their first for this year is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 20 at Burlington Elementary.
The more chances voters have to hear from those on the ballot, the better, and we are thankful to see this event tonight.
The Ironton Tribune will be hosting a candidate forum of its own later this year, in advance of the general election. And we will be publishing our usual voter guides.
With so many opportunities, it is our hope that our voters will be more informed than ever as they cast their ballots this year.
