Tonight, at 6:30 p.m., Ohio University Southern will host its annual Community Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. in the Bowman Auditorium at the school.
As is the case each year, it features an number of speakers from around the region who speak of the impact the civil rights activist has had on America and how he continues to be an influence today.
The university has been organizing this event for more than 20 years and it is always an inspiring presentation.
King’s message on non-violent activism to take on bigotry and discrimination in our society continues to relevant in today’s climate and the event is a way to come together to embrace that philosophy.
We encourage everyone to consider dropping by and hearing this year’s line-up of presenters.
