Candidates file for Ohio primary: Deadline was Wednesday

COLUMBUS — Ohio Sec. of State Frank LaRose has announced the list of candidates who filed for Ohio’s 2020 presidential primary.
Candidates had until Wednesday to file and LaRose is required by law to announce who qualified for the ballot within 70 days of the election. He said his office will make that announcement on Jan. 7.
On the Republican side, filings included incumbent President Donald Trump, as well as former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld.
Democrats who filed were former Vice President Joe Biden, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, of Massachusetts, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, of Vermont, Amy Klobuchar, of Minnesota, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, of New Jersey, U.S. Sen. Michael Bennett, of Colorado; former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, of Hawaii, former U.S. Rep. John Delaney, of Maryland, former U.S. Sec. of Housing and Urban Development Sec. Julian Castro, businessmen Tom Steyer and Michael Yang.
