WILLOW WOOD — The Symmes Valley Vikings used the “four to score” plan, only they didn’t spread the floor and go into a delay game.
The Vikings had four players in double figures as they downed the Western Indians 68-51 in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Friday.
Jack Leith led the quartet with 19 points and he also had 10 rebounds, 7 blocks, 4 steals and 3 assists.
Luke Leith had 16 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals, Logan Walsh 15 points, 4 assists and 4 steals, and Caden Brammer finished with 12 points and 5 assists.
Maveric Ferneau scored 13 points and both Colton Montgomery and Broc Jordan had 9 each.
Jack Leith scored 6 points and Walsh hit a 3-pointer as the Vikings took a commanding 16-3 first quarter lead.
Western tried to creep back into it as they cut the spread to 30-20 at the half.
Montgomery had 6 points as six different players scored.
Symmes Valley (2-1, 1-1) opened up a 54-35 cushion in the third quarter as Brammer hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 8 points and Walsh added 7.
The Leith brothers combined for 10 points in the fourth quarter to erase any comeback hopes by Western.
Ferneau had 8 of the Indians’ 16 points in the quarter.
The Vikings play at Rock Hill Saturday and host Portsmouth Notre Dame on Tuesday.
