It’s time to get festive

The Christmas season kicks off at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, who will be hosting their annual Festival of Trees and Christmas Market today and tomorrow.
The event, now in its fifth year began on a smaller scale at Ohio University’s Proctorville Center, before expanding to its current form at the Chamber’s South Point headquarters.
In addition to the elaborately-decorated trees by local schools and business, the festival will also feature craft and food vendors, musical entertainment and children’s activities. And it will be held in conjunction with a live Nativity adjacent to it, sponsored by area churches.
It is a popular draw and a wonderful chance for community fellowship. And there is no cost for families to attend.
We invite everyone to get a head start on the holiday spirit this weekend and we commend the Chamber and all the volunteers for their dedication to putting this event on each year.
