Sharing our local history

It’s that time of year again and the staff of The Ironton Tribune is preparing to put together our annual Profile magazine.
The full-color publication, which will be included with the newspaper in February is one of our more popular features.
For this year’s theme, we have chosen is “There’s No Place Like Home,” and we will be looking into the history of Lawrence County, Ironton and the surrounding area.
From prominent leaders and figures over the years, to industries that built the area, to businesses and organizations that have stood the test of time and continue into the present, we hope to show the proud heritage of the region and how it has served as a foundation for the present and the future.
We would like to get your input as we prepare this publication.
What are some things you would like us to feature?
Whether it is a prominent founding family, a museum dedicated to preserving history or a major event that shaped the county, we would like to present it to our readers. Or if you have interesting old photos you would like others to see, we would like to hear from you.
If you have suggestions for this publication or would be interested in contributing, please contact us at briefs@irontontribune.com.
We hope to showcase our community and, to do so, we would like to include as many as possible in shaping this effort.
