Isaac Fields

July 12, 1997– Oct. 28, 2019

Isaac Robert Fields, 22, of South Point, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at his residence.

He was born in Huntington, West Virginia, on July 12, 1997 to David Fields and Amy Short, who survive. He was also survived by his step-parents, Terry Short and Cathy Puher-Caroll.

Isaac was a graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and was attending welding school at ACTC and working at Fields Welding Supply. He loved to spend his days hunting, fishing or playing football or basketball, and especially enjoyed hanging out with his friends.

Isaac was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Michael E. Fields; and maternal grandparents, Robert L. and Yvonne Wilson.

In addition to his parents and stepparents, he is survived by a brother, Eric (Allie) Fields; step siblings, TJ Short, Nikki Short, and Rylee Watts; a most precious niece, Charlie Jo Fields; a grandmother that was dear to his heart, Clara (Tibby) Fields; aunts and uncles, Abby Bare, Arin McKnight, Ellen (Donnie) Adkins, Larry Fields, Melissa (Scott) Landers, Leslie (Greg) Morrison-Stevens, John (Jodi) Fields, Angie Ferguson, Curt Metzler and Sheila Coffman. He is also survived by a large group of loving cousins and a multitude of friends who became family.

A celebration of life for Isaac will be held 3–5 p.m. Saturday at Dawson Bryant High School Cafeteria, food and refreshments will be served.

Edna Turner

March 23, 1921– Nov. 5, 2019

Edna L. Bowen Turner, 98, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, at a local nursing home facility. Mrs. Turner was born March 23, 1921, in South Point; a daughter to the late Henry C. and Nettie (Dillon) Bowen. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth “Bud” Turner, who passed away April 10, 2017.

Mrs. Turner was a 1938 graduate of Aid High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and was the former United Methodist Women Church treasurer for 16 years. Mrs. Turner also attended Ironton First Church of Nazarene for many years. She loved her family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis, Robert and Richard Bowen; and two sisters, Dorothy Bowen and Lois E. Clark.

She is survived by daughter, Barbara (John) Houston, of Ironton; three sons, Rodney (June) Turner, Michael (Dawn) Turner, all of Lexington, Kentucky, and Keith (Kathy) Turner, of Cincinnati; sister, Elsie Lambert, of Alcoa, Tennessee; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with the Rev. Rob Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Bruce Shepherd

Bruce T. Shepherd, 62 of Scottown, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathy Hayes Shepherd.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
