Coal Grove lifts boil water advisory

The Village of Coal Grove has lifted its boil water advisory for all customers from Zoar Hill through County Road 6.

The boil water advisory had been issued on Wednesday due a loss in pressure in the distribution system, which happened after a water line break.

Due to a loss in pressure in the distribution system, the village of Coal Grove has issued a boil water advisory. They are asking people to boil water for three minutes before using it to destroy any possible harmful microorganisms that may have gotten into the water supply. That led to a loss of pressure in the distribution system, which may cause backpressure, back siphonage, or a net movement of water from outside the pipe to the inside through cracks, breaks, or joints in the distribution system that are common in all water systems.

Such a system failure carries with it a high potential that total coliform or other disease-causing organisms could enter the distribution system.

All stored water, drink or ice made recently from this supply shall be discarded.
