HANGING ROCK — Gathered between two school buses used to shield the wind, children from Lawrence County Early Childhood Academy and Small Miracles Day Care watched with excitement as a helicopter landed on the parking lot on Thursday.
As the pilots stepped out, the crowd lined up for a chance to hop inside and explore the cabin Thursday morning.
The Transportation Day experience gave children an opportunity to learn about how transportation is used in varying professions.
In addition to the Health Net Aeromedical helicopter, there were vehicles on hand from Ironton and Hanging Rock police departments, Hamilton Township Volunteer Fire Department and Patriot Emergency Medical Services.
