FRANKLIN FURNACE — Tayte Carver and Trevor Darnell combined on a no-hitter which was quite a feat.
They also combined on a shutout.

The duo’s accomplishment Wednesday means Green’s pitchers have now thrown five straight shutouts as the Bobcats blank the Western Indians 16-0 in five innings.
“We’re not walking people and our defense plays well behind them. Carver and Darnell pounded the strike zone,” said Green coach Dan McDavid.
“We can throw strikes because our pitchers know we can make the plays behind them.”
Carver struck seven and walked one in three innings while Darnell worked two scoreless innings.
The Bobcats had 16 hits with Eli Webb going 3-3, Levi Singleton 2-3, Ethan Carpenter 2-2 and Darnell 2-3.
Green took a 2-0 lead in the first.
Webb singled, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on Tanner Kimbler’s ground. Carver reached on an error and scored on Singleton’s double.
The Bobcats got five runs in the second.
Darnell singled, stole second and rode home on Carpenter’s double. Webb followed with an RBI double, Kimbler walked and Carver had an RBI single.
A double steal scored a run and Carver came home on a sacrifice fly by Singleton.
Green (9-1, 4-0) exploded for seven runs in the third.
Caden Brammer doubled and Carpenter singled him home. Webb got a hit and Kimbler doubled in a run.
Carver walked to load the bases and Bryce Ponn had a ground rule double to drive in two runs. Singleton singled home Carver and Mason Barber singled in Ponn.
The Bobcats got their final two runs in the fourth.
Joe Webb walked, moved up on a wild pitch and scored on Mason Hensley’s base hit. Brandon Neal singled, Caden Blizzard walked and Barber grounded out as the run scored.
