PROCTORVILLE — Award-winning artist Diane K. Arthur née Smallwood is currently displaying numerous watercolor paintings at the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library’s Proctorville branch.
Arthur is known for her dynamic and colorful artwork, and creates pieces in her studio in Proctorville.
“I always loved creating art, but I really started painting to relieve the stress I encountered as a registered nurse,” she said. “I am very pleased to have my work on display at the Briggs Library in Proctorville. It is great to share my love and passion for art in a local venue.”
Arthur has participated in and given several workshops on painting in private and group art classes. Her work has been represented in several one-woman art shows and is part of many collections, both public and private.
She has also designed and created work for the Tri-State Artisans and the Paramount Arts Center, and has had some of her pieces on display at the Highlands Museum in Ashland and the Huntington Museum of Art.
In addition, Arthur is interested in bringing together a group of artists, of any level, who wish to paint and learn from each other, make new friends and share their passion for art.
If you are interested in being a part of this group, email KathyZoe2016@gmail.com or message Arthur on Facebook at her art studio’s page, Art by Diane, Cricklewood Art Studio.
There will also be a signup sheet available at the Proctorville library, where you can sign up or leave comments or inquiries.
The Proctorville branch of the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library is located at 410 Elizabeth St., Proctorville.
