Ashland artist featured at Briggs Library

Exhibit will be on display through March 30

Ashland, Kentucky artist Angela S. Lewis currently has original paintings on display at the Briggs Lawrence County Public Library in Ironton.

A 1991 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School, Lewis earned a Certificate of Completion at Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and also has a degree in visual communications/commercial art from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Class of 1993.

She has had a career in graphic design for more than 22 years and has received multiple awards in advertising layouts with the Kentucky Press Association.

Lewis has illustrated two children’s stories and taught art to children in public schools and private gallery settings. Lewis said she enjoys writing literary fiction and has published short stories in books with local writers groups.

Lewis describes her art as eclectic and says it is inspired from numerous sources, adding that she enjoys painting in all mediums.

In addition to the display at the library, some of her pieces can also be seen at the Grayson, Kentucky Gallery of Art.

Lewis’ display at the Ironton library will be up though Saturday, March 30. The Ironton library is located at 321 S. Third St., Ironton.
