Operation GRACE gets 140 jackets from state
The Office of Faith Based Initiatives of the Ohio Governor’s Office recently donated 140 additional winter coats for Lawrence-Scioto Solid Waste Management District Director Dan Palmer’s Operation GRACE program earlier this month.
The newest donation from the office comes following a donation of 60 winter coats for the program back in December, making its total donation 200 coats for children in Scioto County.
The governor’s office program is called Operation Warmth, and strives to make sure children have the proper coats for winter weather. Palmer began Operation GRACE, which stands for Giving Relief to Area Children for Enrichment, around three years ago, which helps children from drug-affected families get necessary items that they may not otherwise have access to.
He said he is very grateful for the donations of coats and any donations that the program receives, and thanked the governor’s office for its contributions.
