Items passed at county commission

Meeting took place at Chamber of Commerce
The Lawrence County Commission had its meeting at the county Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday due to the ongoing renovations taking place at the courthouse, and the commission chambers in particular, at this time.
Several items were passed at the meeting:
• Received and filed the liquor permit for Dick’s Carryout and Drive Thru LLC for Washington Township in Oak Hill.
• Appointed Doug Marcum and Lela McClintock to the Storm Water Task Force, term for Jan. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2021, as requested by Kim Carrico, urban/education specialist.
• Approved the re-appointment of Katrina Keith and Aaron Heighton to the Lawrence County Port Authority. The appointments are Jan. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2021.
• Approved the appointment of a third open position to DeAnna Holliday to the Lawrence County Port Authority. The appointment term is Jan. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2021.
• Approved the creation of the Emeritus Board Membership and give that position to Thomas McKnight for the Lawrence County Port Authority, as requested by Dr. Bill Dingus.
• Approved and awarded the bid for process server to Pennington and Associates for the following rates: Ironton City Corporation $25, Lawrence County $25, counties bordering Lawrence County $25, all other counties $50.
• Approved and signed the Lawrence County Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS) Child Support Enforcement Agency Title IV-D contract with Pennington and Associates to provide service of process to the Child Support Enforcement Agency, beginning Feb. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2019.
• Approved and signed the contract between the LCDJFS and McCown and Fisher LPA for legal services to the LCDJFS Child Support Enforcement Agency, contract term Jan. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2019.
• Approved and signed the out-of-county housing contract with Morrow County in the amount of $60 per day per bed, beginning Jan. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2019.
• Approved and signed the out-of-county housing contract with Monroe County in the amount of $65 per day per bed, beginning Jan. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2019.
• Received and filed a correspondence from the Lawrence County Board of Elections.
• Met in executive session with Chris Kline, Patrick Leighty, and Dave and Cheryl Bloender regarding real estate.
• Met in executive session with Chris Kline, Lori Morris and Mac Yates regarding real estate.
• Met in executive session with Chris Kline, Lori Morris and Mac Yates regarding personnel; hire, fire, reprimand.
• Met in executive session with Chris Kline and Brad Bear regarding legal contracts.
• Met in executive session with Chris Kline and Ralph Kline regarding legal contracts.
• Approved two new floodplain permits.
• Approved four transfer funds.
The next commission meeting will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 at the chamber of commerce, located at 216 Collins Ave. in South Point.
