PEDRO — The South Point Lady Pointers went into Monday’s game leading the Ohio Valley Conference, and they made it known quickly they planned to leave with the lead.
The Lady Pointers jumped out to a big first half lead and remained unbeaten in the OVC with a 58-30 win over the Rock Hill Redwomen.
Emilee Whitt had 23 points and six steals to lead the Lady Pointers who are 8-1 overall and 6-0 in the league.
Emile Carey and Diamond Crawley scored 10 points each with Ashley Perkey grabbing 10 rebounds and Jaiden Howard seven rebounds in the winning effort.
Maddy Khounlavong had six assists and two steals for South Point.
Rileigh Morris had 10 points and four rebounds for the Redwomen. Kylee Howard led Rock Hill with eight rebounds.
South Point took a 16-5 first quarter lead and stretched the cushion to 30-14 at the half.
The Lady Pointers put the game away as they outscored Rock Hill 19-9 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 49-23.
On Thursday, South Point hosts Coal Grove and Rock Hill entertains Fairland.
