Music, Hornets rally late to beat Rams

RACELAND, Ky. — The Coal Grove Hornets don’t seem to want to play until it gets late and sometimes too late.
And thanks to Aaron Music, this time they weren’t too late.
In their first game, Coal Grove was down 19 points going into the fourth quarter and got within four points before losing by six.
On Tuesday, Coal Grove trailed almost the entire three quarters before rally from 11 points down to stun the Raceland Rams 65-58 as Music scored 13 of his game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter.
Raceland (1-1) led 16-13 after the first quarter as five different players scored. Cory Borders hit a 3-pointer and score five points with Music getting four.
The Rams extended their lead to 39-33 at the half as Andrew Floyd hit three triples and scored 13 points while Kirk Pence was 5-of-6 at the foul line.
Kyle Sites, Borders and Music all hit 3-pointers in the quarter with Music scoring half of the Hornets’ 20 points.
Greg Mershon knocked down three 3-pointers of his own in the third quarter and Austin Cumpton added another triple as Raceland now led 53-42.
Nate Harmon had four of his six points in the quarter for the Hornets.
But then Music took over in the fourth quarter.
Coal Grove held the Rams to just five points in the quarter while Music hit three baskets, a 3-pointers and was 4-of-6 at the foul line. Jaylen McKenzie was 3-of-4 at the line and added five points.
The Hornets were 8-of-14 at the foul line in the quarter.
Borders was the only other player in double figures with 10 points for the Hornets (1-1).
Floyd had 18 points, Mershon 16 and Pence 11 for the Rams.
Coal Grove plays Minford at Portsmouth on Saturday.
