Ironton artist Pati Payne featured
An art exhibit is currently on display at the Briggs Lawrence County Library in Ironton, featuring the works of Ironton artist Pati Payne.
Payne said she has been painting all of her life, and that a love for art runs in the family, as both of her parents were well-known artists in West Virginia.
Payne enjoys painting in all mediums, with most being done in watercolor. However, she said that in the past year, she has been working on impressionistic oil paintings and acrylic pours.
Payne started the Ironton Artists Association in 1974, and has been scheduling art exhibits at the Briggs Library for the past four years.
Her paintings can be seen at her home studio or at Consigned Books, located at 2230 S. Third St. in Ironton.
Payne’s exhibit at the library will be on display through Saturday, Jan. 5. The Briggs Lawrence County Library is located at 321 S. Fourth St. in Ironton.
