South Point schools host indoor activities
BURLINGTON — Rainy weather on Friday may have kept students inside, but it did not put a stop to the Halloween festivities.
Both of the elementary schools in the South Point school district called off their outdoor Halloween parades due to the weather, but still kept activities going.
South Point Elementary, which typically hosts a large parade around the block, featuring floats and guests in addition to students, canceled those festivities, opting to keep things dry.
At Burlington Elementary, where students normally parade around the campus while parents stand outside, the route was moved indoors, circling the cafeteria and the gym and still drew a packed house.
Afterward, the school hosted Halloween parties in the individual classrooms, where students were treated to food and candy.
