OLIVE HILL — Carter Caves State Resort Park in Kentucky is offering a rappelling adventure for the Fathers Day weekend.
Park officials say that, for $5 per person on Sunday, visitors can experience the park natural bridge in a way few people ever can, making their way down a 60-foot drop to Cave Branch Creek below.
The event is open to ages 6 and up, though those under 15 must have a legal guardian present.
Ages 16 and 17 must have a signed waiver from a guardian.
The activity is set for 10 a.m-3 p.m. at the park and equipment will be provided. Closed toe shoes are required and flip flops and sandals are not permitted.
For more information, and to purchase tickets, visit www.parks.ky.gov or call 606-286-4411.
The park is located at 344 Caveland Drive near Olive Hill.
Additonal rappelling adventures are scheduled for July 8 and Aug. 5.
