Lester earns all-academic OAC honors

ADA — Blake Lester has been hitting his target both on and off the baseball field.
The former Chesapeake Panthers’ standout not only had 12 strikeouts this season for Ohio Northern, but he was right on target in the classroom by earing Ohio Athletic Conference All-Academic honors.
ONU had seven athletes recognized as all-academic.
The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.
Lester — a junior — is a Civil Engineer major and earned academic honors for the first time.
In eight games this season including four starts, Lester blanked Baldwin Wallace 2-0 on April 10 for his first career win.
Other ONU players honored were senior Brandon Kasberg (Mentor), juniors Austin Frey (Peoria, Az./Sunrise Mountain), Caleb Thomas (Strongsville)and Jackson Buda (Norton), and sophomores Scott Beaton (Novi, Mich.) and Tommy Vlasek (Richfield/Revere).
