Deborah Matney

April 14, 1955 — March 4, 2018

Deborah Kay Matney, 62, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at UK Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky. Debbie was born April 14, 1955, in Lawrence County, a daughter to the late Ben and Jenny (Cornell) Miller.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James “Jim” Matney, whom she married April 3, 1973.
Debbie was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her family. Debbie was of the Baptist faith and attended Ohio Baptist Church in Ironton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Kathy Jenkins.
In addition to her husband Jim, she is survived by three sons, Shane (Khadeja) Matney, of Killen, Texas, Shawn (Jennifer) Matney, of Niceville, Florida, and Shannon (Sandy) Matney, of Hanging Rock; daughter, Shelley Matney, of Hanging Rock; 10 grandchildren, Keely Matney and Jordan Matney, of Killeen, Texas, T.J. Matney and Ethan Matney, of Niceville, Florida, Savannah Miller, of Ironton, Trystan Matney, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Elijah Matney, Isaiah Matney, Haley Matney and Karissa Taylor, all of Hanging Rock; and three brothers, Jerry Miller, David Miller and Alan Miller, of Warsaw, Indiana.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Homer Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Roberta Noel

March 24, 1939 — March 2, 2018

Roberta Louis Noel, 78, of Newark, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018, at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newark.
The Ironton native was born March 24, 1939, a daughter of the late Edith McClellan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert R. Noel.
Mrs. Noel attended Rock Hill High School and was a homemaker. She loved animals, the countryside and music, and was the best pie maker. She was of the Methodist faith and she loved her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steven R. Noel; and a brother, Wayne McClellan.
She is survived by two sons, Rick (Patricia) Riggle, of Heaven, Ohio, and Curtis (Thea) Noel, of Orville; two daughters, Rebecca (Ralph) Lake, of Mansfield, and Sharon (Mike) Jones, of Texas City, Texas; a brother, Mike McClellan, of Newark; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Robert Day

Robert O. Day, 86, of Chesapeake, died Monday, March 5, 2018, at home. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kay Day.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Proctorville VFW 6878 will conduct military graveside rites. Dolores Hairston

Dolores Catherine Hairston, 82, of Ironton, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Jim Lee Cremeans officiating. Curtis Andy Combs, 44, of Proctorville, died Monday, March 5, 2018. There will be a private family memorial service at a later date. Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is assisting the family with arrangements.
