Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce hosts festive event
SOUTH POINT — The holiday season has begun with the Festival of Trees and Christmas Market this weekend at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.
Around 30 decorated Christmas trees in a variety of themes and designs fill the inside of the chamber building, while a Christmas market with numerous vendors is taking place outside under tents.
The themes of the trees vary from super heroes to Harley Davidson to winter wonderland, and are up for bid or for sale. Vendors in the Christmas market include Red Shoe Gallery, Silver Fox Jewelry, Unwinded Candles, Meadows Pottery, the Good News Llamas and many more.
On Friday morning, a ribbon cutting kicked off the opening of the event, and live reindeer were also available to pet and feed in the afternoon.
From 1-3 p.m. today, there will also be a children’s event, which is free entry with the donation of a non-perishable food item that will be given to a local food pantry. The children’s event will include activities such as face painting, ornament decorating, and cookie decorating.
The Festival of Trees and Christmas Market is open from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. today and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.
